Let us enter,
dear Travelsnapz friends
On a search for dear Giulietta
Of Verona fame.
Across this ancient bridge we will stride
Even though the fog our long sight dims
We will join the centuries as if a second has past
And help Romeo in this romantic task.
Through triumphant arch
Even before our search is won
But confidence is our partner
(er….we have a map!)
So let us look down alleys
And on balconies
For Romeo's fair girl
And be not tricked by cunning street names.
A likeness would be helpful in our bold search
Yet although there are some
Fair Giulietta is not displayed.
Is this the balcony
That held her thus
But we wait in vain
For the door to be thrust.
We entered in the Godly house
To ask the Father her whereabouts
The spires were turned as tho an upward sign
But Giulietta we did not find.
Do we wash our hands of this worthy task
Before success is gained?
No tis just a diversion in our course
To rid us of the stains.
Here's a knave, let's ask him thus
Hold, does he book a bike?
Ah no (chuckle, chuckle)
It is his own steed on which he writes.
But wait, here is a chance
Tis seems to be a likely spot
Stay quiet now, keep the travellers to the rear
Ah, at last, fair Jennifer she does appear.
